Another successful tournament

Our students have persistently performed well in tournaments.

In class.

Ms. Wanda Cheney was leading this class.

As I'm updating this blog, I noticed how certain things have changed.  The younger students who are still coming have grown. Very nicely! They are now high rank black belts.  Those who have left are still missed and remembered.

Andre Coquerel testing for his 5th Degree Black Belt

The judges
I greatly appreciated Grandmaster Ahn coming for my testing.  Master Wynn Parker from the Atlanta School was also receiving his 8th degree the same day.  So, it may not be just for me, still greatly appreciated Grandmaster with the valuable advice he gave that day.

Moving in rank from 4th degree to 5th, takes many years.  I'm happy to get this stage over.  This is a great school and I enjoy training and teaching here!

Addison Chaney testing for her second degree.

What a pleasure to have the Chaney family in our day classes.  Now, Addison has tested for her second degree, joining the ranks of the multiple degrees black belt holders of the Chaneys.

Addison did great in her board breaking and form performance.

Addison's dad, Duane Chaney, jumped in to hold board her daughter.  He is also a black belt.

Congratulations, Addison!

Our class keeps growing!

We started this day class with a humble 5 to 7 students and we are now a regular 14 students strong (on the average).  We've reached 17 students in class here and there.  Our students do well in testing in tournaments.

To continue to give the personalized attention to our students, we have started splitting the class in two, using both training rooms.  The children in one room, the adults in the other.

Come join us!

A nice surprise visit with several black belts

Strolling one after the other, several black belts came in to our Tuesday class.  These are mostly 2nd degree black belts who have been students of mine in the past and with whom I have a good and friendly connection.
There were 12 students that day and the difference was that most of the students were black belts.  I wish the home schooled children who usually come to our class were there that day to benefit from the experience of this friendly bunch but you never know who will show up for class until they ...show up!

We had a great practice time!

Award ceremony

The school has an award ceremony on the Thursday that follows the week of testing.

We held our own little ceremony for our students who could not make it at that Thursday event.

Ronan Hatfield getting his next rank
Congratulations, Ronan!!!

Then comes his brother Reese who did great as well!
Reese Hatfield moved up two ranks!  He is very serious about TaeKwonDo.

Then comes Lester Daniel, a very dedicated student who moved up two ranks as well!

Some, like Dylan Belcher, got their new rank earlier.  Dylan moved up two ranks! He is trying hard.
We had twelve students today, including five black belts.
A special thank to Stephen Martin, first degree black belt, who took the pictures.
We also appreciate the help of Wanda Cheney, second degree, Anna Riley, Noah and Addison Cheney, all first degrees, who have helped today.  They've helped, not just with our small award ceremony, but also with forms.

We are proud of our students!
